We provide free advice to home gardeners at local fairs, garden shows and other events, such as: The County Garden Show, Seedy Saturday, The Milford Fair and the Seniors Fair.
We offer gardening advice through our email, which you can find in Contact Us.
We give educational talks, presentations and demonstrations around The County and provide articles on a variety of garden topics on our website. In addition, we help maintain the Heritage Gardens at Macaulay House and we also offer plants to home gardeners at our annual Plant Sale in the spring.
Here’s a few photos of us in action!
On a sunny day in October, after our very successful Fall Bulb Sale, we got together and planted 400+ daffodil bulbs at PEFAC (Prince Edward Fitness & Aquatic Centre). We wanted to give back to our community and thank them for their support. Thank You. It will be a beautiful display in the spring! Many thanks to Carol Wilson for the photographs.

We always enjoy the Milford Fair. It’s a lively fair with lots of visitors, many of whom drop by our tent to ask a question, or just to say hello.
We are always on hand at The County Garden Show to share our passion for gardening and answer questions or give advice.
We often give demonstrations at various garden centres. This is a photo of two Master Gardeners demonstrating how to make a container garden at Lockyer’s County Gardens.

In May and June over the weekends, you can find us giving advice at the greenhouses at Smylie’s Independent Grocers in Trenton.

We got together with other community groups in Picton to plant a shrub in memory of Kathy MacPherson, a Master Gardener in our group.

Master gardeners help maintain the gardens at Macaulay Heritage Gardens in Picton.

We are on hand at Seedy Saturday, answering questions and giving advice about starting seeds and gardening in general.

We give presentations throughout the area. We will be happy to address your group, just drop us a line and let us know what you’d like us to talk about. Here, one of our Master Gardeners is talking to the Newcomers Group in Wellington about how to become a Master Gardener and what resources are available for gardeners in our area.

Each year in May we have our annual plant sale. We grow most of the plants ourselves and have a wide range of plants for sale. We use the funds to pay for our MGiT’s (Master Gardeners in Training) courses. It’s a fun day and the prices are very reasonable, come out and meet the Master Gardeners in The County.

We like to have a pot luck during the late spring to get together socially.
